Bridal Gown Trends

Love is the air and couples are still getting married even if they have had to postpone or adjust their original ceremony and receptions plans. Many of the designers chose to do virtual fashions shows, but still filled the runway with gowns that were unique, creative and stylish. The top 10 runway trends included cut outs, backless and barely there lace, accents and balloon sleeves, tea length dresses, ruffles, square necklines, capes, subtle sparkle, bows, two-piece dressing including pants, and slip dresses.

Regardless of your personal gown style, lace, sequins or other textures and embellishments will allow gowns to be appreciated from any distance — indoors, outdoors or on screen. “There are stunning styles with intricate lace detail with multi-layering fabrics to add texture and dimension, which helps the dress to pop in photos,” says Danielle DiMarte from The White Magnolia Bridal Collection. “We are also seeing strapless make a comeback this season.” With rich fabrics, attention to detail and innovative styling and fit, any girl can find a multitude of designers to create her dream gown.

“It is so important that brides shop with a relaxed mindset, but also prepare for finding the one at any moment, it happens when you least expect it,” says DiMarte. “This past year has tested the event industry and it just goes to show how amazing and resilient this industry really is!” However, with many business challenges for designers, manufacturers and retailers, DiMarte does recommend planning ahead and giving yourself time to find a dress without stress, and allowing time for unexpected delivery delays. “Enjoy the whole process, it is so special,” adds DiMarte.    W+E
